handmade christmas decor with mary rebecca

Hello everyone!  I'm Mary Rebecca and I run a blog and etsy shop under the same name. Today I thought I'd share some great DIY ideas to try for the upcoming holidays. Something about the cold weather just makes me want to curl up on the couch, marathon a show, and make something! I'd love to see any craft plans you all might have as well. :D

So this ornament tutorial might be targeted at children but I don't even care! I think it's a super cute idea and if they turn out horrible, I can always just say the cats made them. ;)

I think this would be a really fun way to display any holiday cards you receive or even a great little DIY gift! Just go easy on the eggnog before attempting to make these. It's not the sawing I'm worried about, but the glue gun[ing?]. Those things will turn on you in an instant.

I'm all for bright neon colors for the holidays. I don't actually own these border punches they use in the tutorial, but I do own some decorative scissors. And if you're reading this blog, I having a feeling you do too--don't even try to deny it! We've all been down that scrap-booking road, I hear some people even end up making something. haha

I'll admit it now, this DIY has probably been on my holiday craft list...oh, going on 7 years now. So the likelihood that I will check it off my list this year is probably pretty slim. HOWEVER! If one of you go ahead and make these it's pretty much the same as if I did it myself, right?

Lets round this out with another cute and super simple ornament DIY. We have a rogue rosemary bush outside that I could finally put to good use! Our tree is fake so the rosemary will help make-up for the lack of pine-y goodness. And for all of you with curious young ones [with or without fur], make sure to pick up some of the shatterproof ornaments, because inevitably they will end up on the floor.

Thanks for reading and having a great December!
