full of surprise

Christmas was such a joy this year. It was busy, loud and not nearly as stressful as I had imagined it would be. Our new home was full of family, food and crumpled wrapping paper.

Just before greeting Georgia on Christmas morning I went downstairs to blast some carols. When I got in the room she looked at me with big eyes and said "Sounds! Santa? Pink bike?!"

The girl was pretty dang surprised when she came downstairs. I mean, Santa stopped by in the night and she didn't hear a thing. How does something like that happen?! He even left her this crazy spring-loaded tube that she can put her dad in when he's bothering her...

To say that she was overwhelmed by all of the presents, attention and excitement would be an understatement. There came a point where she called dibs on all the gifts. There was no need for that nonsense though. Clearly she got the best damn gift of the day...

Unfortunately I haven't been able to track down any video footage of the big reveal but I am told it exists. To be honest I thought her reaction would have been much bigger but I think she used up her hilarious/surprised faces on that dang pink bike. Now that's something I wish I had on video!

She is madly in love with this yet-to-be-named kitten who seems to be rather un-fond of her. And the kitten isn't the only one with a new thing on their 'dislike' list. Addie, our #1 kitty (we have to call her that or she'll cut us) was rather pissed off when she learned of our Christmas gift plans.

Tonight (finally) brought an end to the holiday festivities. It was fun while it lasted but I'm so looking forward to getting back to a regular routine and prepping for a new year.

Hope your holiday break was blissful and maybe even a little bit relaxing. See you on the flip side!
