greatest thrift finds with amy of a is for ampersand

There ain't much better in this world than those epic thrift scores.  I mean, it's what we're all after right?  I recently came across the thrifty find of my life (will share soon) and today my friend Amy is here to share one of her all time favourite scores.

Hey there, all of you My Girl Thursday champs! I'm Amy from A is for Ampersand, and I am quite honored to be guest posting today on Chantilly's glorious blog.

Since I know you are all thrifting fiends, I thought I'd share one of my greatest thrifting finds with you. Now to be clear--I thrift A LOT. As in 3+ days a week. I've found a lot of great finds in my thrifty adventures, but nothing quiiiiiite beats this one.

See that little cabinet behind me there? That's a record cabinet that we found one day at Salvation Army. When we found it, we didn't even bother to check if it worked because the thing was far too beautiful AND only $10. TEN DOLLARS. It was kind of a dream come true, and even 5 months later I'm still not over it.

When we got her home and plugged her in, the tubes fired right up, the lights turned on, and she worked perfectly. And after a little research, we found out this baby is straight out of 1962. Needless to say, she is kind of my pride and joy. Whoever gave her away is a.) crazy and b.) awesome for taking such good care of her through the years.

This foxy lady is our second record player, meaning we take vinyl very seriously at our house. Music is everything, right?

What's the greatest thrift score you've ever encountered? I want to hear about it! And if you'd like to see more thrifty goodness, be sure to stop by and visit! Every Thursday over on A is for Ampersand I have a $5 Thrifty Thursday feature where I show a thrift find that was, obviously, $5 or under. Come on over and join in on the fun.

Thanks for having me, Chantilly! And you better believe we're all dying to see what you do with your new place. Happy thrifting!
