It may be hard to believe but it's almost August. I don't know if I've ever explained my great affinity for this fine month but it really, really is my favourite. Why? The same reason any month other than December is a persons favourite month - I have a birthday on this page of the calendar (it's on the 25th too - how very summer Christmasy)!
This year I wanted to do something a little different and get you all involved somehow, so here's what I'm thinking...
Send me a birthday card!!*
Here is a very well thought out list that details why this a brilliant idea:
1. It's for my birthday.
2. You like me?
3. You like sending mail!
4. I like getting mail!
5. The postal system needs our help.
6. My cat likes to chase crumpled up envelopes.
7. I want to build a house made entirely out of well wishes.
8. It will make my boyfriend sooo jealous.
9. Maybe my boyfriend will finally think I'm cool.
10. If you write your mailing address and birth date on the inside of the card some weirdo named after a day of the week just might send you a little something on your special day.
I'm kind of silly excited about this post so hopefully a few of you are as well. I feel like a dork soliciting birthday wishes, but I think reason 10 will be a really fun year-long project.
When I first found this card I thought it said "Bingo Banjo Birthday Jango" and I instantly knew how I'd be celebrating this year. Of course, I'm not certain what Jango means so I could be in for quite a surprise. And then I realized it didn't say banjo. Birthday plans dashed all in the matter of 20 minutes.
Moving on, if you'd like to take part you can find my mailing information on my contact me page. Since I don't have a PO Box these will be coming to my home address. I feel pretty darn odd advertising my location so I'm only going to have that up there for a few weeks.
Hope you're all having a fantastic Thursday! I'll be back tomorrow morning with another edition of Blog Fandom.*I tried to think of a way to make that sound cooler, less needy and bossy but I just couldn't. Only good and happy intentions here. I give you my word.
