the man who brought me back to the written word

It's been a long time since I cracked a book.  Unless you count a book about babies.  Or a book for a baby.  I count neither since they're not really for my enjoyment.

I vaguely remember trying to read something when I was pregnant, but my mind would twitch in fits of guilt for not doing something 'productive.'  Apparently even my brain avoids exercise.

But over the past few months I've been feeling the need to read.  Especially since I started following Our City Lights more closely.  Diana, now there's a chick that makes reading sexy.

So, who is the writer that finally got me to settle down and turn a page?  None other than my second favourite Sedaris - David.

Currently I'm about half way through Me Talk Pretty One Day.  It's demented and hysterical and had me going to sleep laughing every night.  Normally I'm not into short stories or essays, but for this man I will make an exception.

The moment I finish this book I will begin reading When You Are Engulfed In Flames.

I have long been a fan of his masterful storytelling.  Why has it taken me so damn long to finally pick up a book?

What are you reading right now?
