diy documentaries

If I had to choose one genre of film to watch for the rest of my life I would probably have to choose documentary.  I'm a bit of a junkie.  So it should come as no surprise that films of the handmade and diy variety are among my all time favourites.

I waited for what seemed like eons for Handmade Nation to come out on dvd.  I love this movie!  Instant fire for an uninspired soul.

Faythe Levine, the maker of Handmade Nation, is working on a new film about sign painters.  I try not to think about it too often because I get far too excited.  It's like waiting for Christmas; the more you think about it the longer it takes.

And last night my boy pointed me in the direction of a film called Press Pause Play.

A film about hope, fear and digital culture - seems pretty darn interesting to me!

And finally I'll leave you with a trailer from another of my favourite documentaries.  Not exactly based in diy culture, but fascinating for you creative folks nonetheless.

Have a wonderful Wednesday y'all.  Make sure to come by tomorrow for a special post - you'll definitely want to be one of the first five to read it!
