recently thrifted: vintage dresses

Recently I've been talking with my new friend about some really fun (and possibly embarrassing) ways of sharing our love of thrifted clothing. More on this project to be divulged later, but for now I'll leave you with one hint....it involves a video camera (and probably several takes).

As a result of these discussions I've been feeling really inspired when searching the clothing racks at my favourite thrift spots.  For months I've been avoiding the middle of the store (where the clothes are) just because I was buying the same damn thing over and over again - jeans, black tshirts and truly ugly shoes.  I'm not saying there's anything wrong with jeans, obviously I love them.  But the fact that I wore them for probably 360 of the days in 2010 is not terribly exciting.

So in an effort to look like the kind of lass I feel like on the inside I'm attempting to diversify my wardrobe. (Are some of you laughing at me?  If so, that's fine.  You can join the one-man-club my boyfriend founded when this all began.)

Wondering what all this blabber is about?  Well, I guess all I'm trying to say is that I've thrifted some new pieces of clothing and I wanted to offer a peek.  Most of these are going to take some work; so it's probably a good thing I have a sewing machine and I know how to turn it on.

Just looking at these photos makes me want to run down to my craft room and get the sewing started!  Have you thrifted any wonderful clothing lately?
