the (baked) goods: iced pumpkin spice cookies

I'm so tired you guys.  So, so tired.

The sugar coma has grabbed me by the neck and just will not let go.  Eating copious amounts of these babies may have something to do with it.

Embarrassing confession: I've never been a fan of pumpkin.  Not because I gave it a go and decided against it.  More like I decided against it and refused to give it a go.  Yea - I'm one of those.

But since the cool breeze moved in my Google Reader and Twitter feeds have been bursting at the seams with love for pumpkin.  I'm hip to the beat (or a total sucker for peer pressure) - so I decided to welcome the Great Pumpkin into my kitchen.

The night before the show I decided to skip the sewing and bake something festive instead.  In a short amount of time I had two batches of these cooling on the rack.  They were nicely spiced and a light, cakey consistency.  Most certainly well received at the show.  The pumpkin flavour wasn't overwhelming.  I don't know if that means I like the flavour of it or that I was able to ignore it.  Does that mean I have to try pumpkin pie next?   I don't know if I can handle that!
