thrifted: georgia's room decor

A week or so ago I stumbled upon this completely inspiring post over at the Bleubird Vintage blog.  I'm in complete awe of this little birds adorable room.  The colour story, the softness, the vintage - oh my.  I like design, but I wasn't so overwhelming in love until now.

Just those few sneak peek photos of the nursery have lit a fire under my too-lazy-to-decorate bum.  Finally I'm feeling inspired to create a beautiful, creative and one-of-a-kind space for my sweet Miss Georgia.

A finished room is probably a long way away - this will be a slow and steady process.  But how fun is this project?  I get to thrift my little heart out buying cute little things for my little lass's room.  Bliss!

I've already started collecting things.  Just look at some of this heart-crushing-cuteness.

Peterborough is very limited in its thrifty choices, so every once in a while I *have* to bite the bullet at head down to Value Village.  I am a huge un-fan of the chain (things turned sour after I worked for the business) - but every once in a while I find a true gem at the store.  I'm pretty pleased with this mega-retro haul.  Love the toy typewriter!

I cannot leave the Busy Bee without a box or two packed to the brim.  This time I left with one huge box and paid just $12.  I'm in love with the little lamp.  The colours are a dream!

The final picture is a close-up of a vintage curtain.  I love the colour and design, but the panel is too narrow.  I'll have to bust out a little diy on this purchase to make it work for her window.

I'm really excited about this project because it's an opportunity to be creative in a whole new way (and believe me, I could use that right now).  I just hope Georgie will appreciate it as she grows (can I implement the you'll like it because I say you'll like it rule for vintage?).

I'm so in love with these new treasures!  Have you thrifted anything wonderful recently?
