prototype: wool baby shoes

Oh my, the evening is wasting away and I had almost forgotten to do a post. I've been hauling boxes for a better part of today and I believe I've drained almost all of my mental energy along with the physical. Make sense; I'm guessing not - but lets continue, shall we?

Lately any time I've had a chance to sit on my bum I've been working away on baby shoes. Holy moly, these little things have been frustrating! I designed 4 different patterns before I came up with this version - which itself is super simple.

I, of course, decided to make the first "real" pair for my little monkey. I made several pairs in cheapy dollar store felt - but these are made with the wool felt I do you about the other day. I even woke up early this morning to embroider her name of them.

They don't quite fit her yet. Trying to get a photo with them on her feet was hellish to say the least. She is a kick-y little monster. Always has been.

I added a little Mary Jane-esque strap to the shoe afterwards. Unfortunately the babe was out of the house by then so I couldn't take a modeled photo. I like them a little better this way, but the strap does need a little tweaking (it was definitely an afterthought).

My brain has been full of grand plans for these things. I'm hoping that someday they'll be something I can add to my Etsy item list. I don't believe I've come to that point yet though.

I'd love to hear what you think. What do you like about them? What could be changed to make them ever so sweeter? I'd really appreciate some feedback!
